The Difference Between A Planetary Reducer & A Harmonic Reducer
Ⅰ.Planetary Reducer
The planetary reducer is also called planetary gear reducer. The gear structure is composed of a sun gear, a planetary gear, an outer ring gear, a planet carrier, and a transmission shaft, using rigid gears. The planetary gear structure reducer is usually composed of multi-stage planetary gears. The transmission principle is that the gear with a small number of teeth meshes with the large gear on the output shaft to achieve the purpose of speed reduction. The reducer is a rigid transmission equipment used for low speed and high torque.
Ⅱ.Harmonic Reducer
The transmission structure of the harmonic reducer is composed of three basic components: a fixed internal tooth rigid gear, a flexible gear, and a wave generator that deforms the flexible gear radially. Harmonic reducer has the characteristics of accuracy and bearing capacity. Compared with ordinary reducer, because it uses 50% less materials, its volume and weight are reduced by at least 1/3.
The two types of reducers are mainly different in structure. The planetary reducer has rigidity, and the harmonic reducer structure adopts rigid, flexible gear meshing transmission.
